RZK July 2012 Update

Figured it was time for an overall update on everything Renzokusei. This post contains both site updates and updates for every single new, ongoing, planned, and even projects we are currently interested in. Everything can be found after the jump.

Beware, this is a rather lengthy post.

Site Updates
I've changed the comment section to allow anybody to comment freely. I was unaware that it had been set to require an account from one of a few websites. However this setting will be reversed should we get spammed by ad bots and the like at some point. Though I don't really anticipate that any.

On the Projects page I have included a more in-depth project status table. This table lists every single chapter from every series that is currently being worked on. The table lists all 7 stages of scanlation. A green box indicates that stage has been completed, and a blue box indicates that stage is currently in progress. I ask this of the readers:

Do you like the table on the projects page or the list in the gadget on the right side more?

New Projects
Even though it is slightly fun to tease by listing new projects as "secret project #x," it's just a little unproductive because other groups that are interested in or are doing work on that series don't know if another group is doing it, should they chance upon our site. So, in tune with dropping the whole secret project thing, we are announcing the pick up of 2 previously dropped mangas.

Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu, who's manga adaptation ended at 4 volumes and 23 chapters. This series last release was chapter 12 by AquaStar Fansubs on July 9th 2011, just over 370 days ago. The manga ended before both the original source light novel and before the anime, as the last 4 episodes of the anime will be airing this year as OVAs. So, it has a manga-original ending, but it's incredibly satisfying for anyone who watched the first two seasons of the anime. Our translator for this is Ethan, a new recruit who is quite fast, and while still inexperienced is learning. renkindesu and MoonWind will be cleaning volumes 3 and 4 for us respectively.

Soukai no Eve, a manga just dropped by Death Toll last month for unknown reasons. This series was suggested to me just last night by the head proofreader over at DT, PervySageChuck. Who has volunteered his services for it. PROzess the translator who was doing it for DT also agreed to continue it for us, and the first new translations will begin next weekend. I should be able to get at least 2 chapters cleaned before he gets to translating it, so releases for this should be rather quick.

Seirei Tsukai no Kenbu: This is a series that will be serialized in the magazine Comic Alive (here we go again with that magazine), starting in the next issue. We will be doing this series through a joint project with the group U-Prod Scanlations.

Ongoing Projects
Tonari no Kashiwagi-san: We are caught up on this. Chapter 35 will be released on July 24th. The version twos are currently on hold while brand new releases take priority. We're also going to hold off on redoing volumes 1 and 2 currently, until we are able to obtain HQ scans of them.

Haruwaka: The translations for this are complete. The last 5 chapters are being proofread by PervySageChuck, and the last 4 chapters are currently being cleaned by MoonWind. The final 5 chapters will be out soon. Can't really give a definite time frame as I do not know how quickly they will be able to complete their tasks.

Seven Sisters: This series still lacks a translator. I am unsure how many people really want to see this continued, so I haven't been searching too tirelessly for a permanent TL for it. The general consensus I got when we released chapter 3 wasn't a very positive one, either. Nor have I had anyone ask about more chapters since our chapter 3 release.

Sora no Manimani: Chapter 23 has been translated. I am currently awaiting the cleans from Tamashii, but I have not heard from him in a while so I am unsure if he is still cleaning this for us. If I don't hear back from him too soon I will go ahead and clean chapter 23 myself.

Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo: Chapter 3 has been cleaned, however we still lack a permanent translator for the series. I have the option to ask one of a few translators to sub in to translate a chapter every so often, however I will not be doing this very much, as it will take away from doing other series. We currently have a couple translator applicants, however I am still awaiting their tests, but I'm not holding my breath as it is not uncommon to have applicants disappear and not return a test. If anyone has the time and is interested in translating Sakurasou, or another series for us, please apply!

Amagoi: Chapter 11 will be out soon. It will likely be the next release given the amount and difficulty of redraws for Omae wo OTAKU chapter 1 and 2. There is very little left to do on the chapter, it's just ended up taking the backseat to other more popular series. The series would take priority if we were able to find volume 4 scans, but we can't right now so we are somewhat purposely going slower on this so we don't finish volume 3 too quickly without having volume 4.

Choi Hime: This is another series that has somewhat taken a backseat to our other series. We have all the scans for it, but the quality of the scans is really bad, so it takes more time to clean it than it does to clean a normal sized chapter with good scans. My plan for this is to basically just have most if not all of it cleaned, Sjiveru translate it all then release several chapters at a time until completion.

Oniichan dakedo Ai Sae Areba Kankeinai yo ne: After Angry Fox Scans released their chapter 1, we sent an email to them regarding the series, for the second time. We sent one when we were first interested, asking about continuing it. We were told to go ahead with the project. So it was a bit of a surprise when they released theirs. Regardless, we sent an email anyway to try and work something out so we can catchup on this series, as we are up to chapter 20 now in Japan. Unfortunately they seem to not particularly care, and have not responded. So, we will be continuing this series by ourselves. Translations for this series will continue on Tuesday, as the translator we have is currently busy. Chapter 2 is already cleaned and more chapters will be cleaned soon.

Ore to Ichino no Game Doukoukai Katsudou Nisshi: Chapter 1 is currently being recleaned. Chapter 1 will be translated sometime later this week and the cleans for it will be done before a script is done, so chapter 1 will be out in around a week.

Perowan! - Hayaku Shinasai! Goshujinsama: Chapter 7 is still currently untranslated. I am personally a little disappointed at this, because thanks to 10th Mystery, we have obtained great new high quality scans for this series. So starting from chapter 7 on, we will have much better scans and cleans to work with. This also means we now have a monthly raw provider for this, so we will be able to continue releasing this with ScansRemix even after finishing the last chapter of volume 2.

Kitsune no Akuma to Kuroi Madousho: We have obtained a permanent translator for this series. As I work with him on another series in another group I am a member of, I know that not only is he a good translator, but he is quick. So once he is able to start translating, I imagine we will have both volumes 1 and 2 translated pretty quickly. Once that happens, it's just a matter of how fast we can get the chapters cleaned and typeset.

Omae o Otaku ni Shiteyaru kara, Ore o Riajuu ni Shitekure!:  For those not already aware, previously this was supposed to be a joint project between Renzokusei and iMangaScans. However, for apparently no reason, the joint was broken off with us, screwing us over big time on this series. So, partially out of hatred for IMS and partially because we believe this series deserves to be properly done, we will be continuing it. A note will be attached to our next release of this which will be more indepth. Chapters 1 and 2 of this have both been translated for us. Chapter 1 cleans are done, however there are a massive amount of redraws, and several difficult ones at that. Including several on a color page, and a color join page. So, this is taking quite a bit of time for a group not accustomed to such work. We'll likely do a double release of this.

Who Killed Cock Robin?: Chapter 4 is currently being cleaned. As it was already translated by PROzess months ago, once cleaned it will not take long for release. Also, PROzess agreed to finish out the series, as it only has 14 chapters spanning 3 volumes. New translations for this will start next weekend as well.

Puchi Houndo & Oda Nobuna no Yabou: Ethan, our new translator in the group wants to do these series, however finishing Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu takes priority at the moment, so unless we get another translator who wants to do this, releases of these will not begin until we finish Haruka. Sorry.

Hagure Yuusha no Kichiku Bigaku: Chapter 2 is currently being translated by Kurosagi. Chapter 2 cleans are also in progress. Should see a release of it within a week or so, barring any unforeseen setbacks.

Planned Projects
Shuukaku no Juunigatsu/Harvest December: We still currently lack a translator for this. The series is complete at 2 volumes, but it just seems no one is really interested in completing it.

Current Interested Projects
Omamori Himari: We plan to contact Vortex Scans about trying to try and work something out to quicken the releases for it. Had we not been told that it was still an active project there when it was first suggested to us months ago, it would have become a series of ours.

Gou-Dere Bishoujo Nagihara Sora: We plan to contact Rebirth Scans about this series.

Kono Naka ni Hitori, Imouto ga Iru!: I have contacted Kirei Cake about this series. Despite how far behind they are, I know the leader of the group is not very big on joints, so nothing will likely come out of this. It's somewhat of a shame, but nothing we can do. Look forward to a release from them really soon, though.

Sore ga Kanojo no Seigi nara: We plan to contact Pinoymanga Scans about this series.

Sora no Otoshimono: We plan to contact FoOlRulez about this series.

Sorairo Square: We have contacted World Three about this series. We were told that they did not need help on it, the reason for the slower releases was because the staff for it was or is away. But if they ever needed or wanted any help, they would contact us again.

Otoko o Misete yo Kurata-kun!: We contacted Riceballicious about continuing this series recently, but were told that it was "given" to Angry Fox Scans. In the same email to them about Onii Ai, we asked about this series, but again was given no response. So this will likely become a new project of ours should a release from Rice or Angry Fox not come any time soon.

Mondlicht - Tsuki no Tsubasa: This is another series done by the mangaka Yuu Tachibana. Our raw provider for Kitsune no Akuma also bought the tanks for this series, and should we find a translator that is interested in finishing this for us, this will become a project of ours. However, right now our ongoing and planned series take priority over interested projects.
